A Proud Son
While we were driving to drop my husband off at his second job. Yes, he works two jobs. Don't be surprised.
Anyway before I digress off on a tangent of able bodied people living on welfare ('cause you know I want to go there - that's the kind of mood I'm in today) I have a really nice tidbit of a conversation that made me beam with pride.
Right before we dropped my husband off (I dropped him off 'cause we only have one car and I needed to run errands so we made the hour trek from home.)
Our eldest son Mo says, "Dad can you wear your Air Force clothes to the playground."
Where upon my husband shook his head and said, "No. I can't."
"O c'mon dad, I want all my friends to see that my daddy is an airman."
I ask, "Why do you want daddy to wear his uniform to the playground?"
"Mom, its to show everyone how proud I am that my daddy is an airman, and he helps keeps the world safe."
Duh.
In that last statement my son was quoting a line taken by a book he has My Daddy is an Airman.
First Lady, Michelle Obama Adresses Military Families
As a military spouse I had no idea that our First Lady, Michelle Obama addressed military families specifically right before President Obama's election.

Email Scams Involving the Military
I recieved an email from someone claiming to be in the military serving overseas. She asked if I would be kind enough to move about 3.2 million dollars! Umph! Take it from me, if a person had that much green, they wouldn't be wearing Army Green! Secondly she claims to have found money belonging to Sadam Hussein. News Flash any money found is NOT kept by the United States.
Here's a copy of the email spewing falshoods and undoubtedly trying to scam me out of money which in and of itself is wrong, but defaming the U.S. military is so annoying. Not to mention that they mention the death of a U.S. solider, this person is beyond scum.
Dear Friend,
My name is Major,Selma George. I am an American soldier with Swiss background, serving in the military with the army 3rd infantry division. With a verydesperate need for assistance, I have summed up courage to contact you. I foundyour contact particulars in an address journal. I am seeking your kindassistance to move the sum of ( $ 3.2 million u.s.dollars )three million, twohundred united states dollars to you, as far as I can be assured that my sharewill be safe in your care until I complete my service here, this is no stolenmoney, and there are no danger involved. I am presently in a hospitalrecovering from injuries sustained in a suicide bomb attack.Source of money:Some money in various currencies was discovered in barrels at a farmhouse nearone of Saddam's old palaces in Tikrit-Iraq during a rescue operation, andit was agreed by staff Sgt Kenneth buff and I that some part of this money beshared among both of us before informing anybody about it since both of us sawthe money first. This was quite an illegal thing to do, but I tell you what? Nocompensation can make up for the risk we have taken with our lives in this hellhole. Of which my brother in-law was killed by a road side bomb last week.
