The One Where Jolene Perry Guest Blogs & We SHOULD Be Buds!

I love when authors come to visit! Please welcome Jolene Perry!  So. When I'm on blogs that I don't visit often, I feel the need to skim them over and check them out, and the longer I was on Nicole's blog, the more I was like - WE MUST BE FRIENDS! WE HAVE LOTS AND LOTS IN COMMON.FIRST -  PROJECT RUNWAY. I love this show. LOVE. This is the only bit of reality TV that I watch. I have not missed an episode. Ever.SECOND - There are a lot of Twilight posts on this blog. I will readily admit that I don't have TV and when I want it on just to have it on... I usually toss in a Twilight movie.THIRD - I Have a board on Pinterest labeled - STUFF THAT MADE ME SMILE.For real.SO, there.Anyway. Since I gave you three reasons why me and Nicole should be friends, I thought I'd also give you three reasons to read my book ;-)ONE -Writing a guy with one arm who is falling for a girl and is trying to figure out how to be with her, how to get closer to her, when he's used to having two arms... It was fun.TWO -Kate is a scattered mess who rarely does the right thing the first time - very much like me.THREE -The hair cutting scene, the scene where Kate helps him drive his stick shift car before he has to sell it, the scene where he kisses her in the back of said car, the night she sleeps over and where I wrote my fav sex-scene EVAH :-)So. Thank you SO much for letting me "invade" for a day!!!!~ Jolene

2013 A Review in Pictures Flipagram

In 2013 I welcomed my husband home after 751 days. Eight months later I kissed him goodbye for what should be 190 days. I kissed him... A lot. Said good bye to family and friends in Miami, fulfilled a life long dream of living in Europe. In Italy I've made some good friends who feel like family, climbed a mountain (sort of), read a ton of books. Wrote some stuff, including a letter to Juliette (and felt her up). I became a soccer mom, sent my baby to Kindergarten, drank a bunch of wine, and even more coffee and tea, and ate way too much gelato. My Gram gives the best hugs and slobbery kisses and I miss them. Oh and I still heart Mr. Darcy!I made this using the Flipagram app and the song is "Sway" by Blue October

South Korean Vintage Shop

Last week my husband did a bit of exploring somewhere in South Korea and he captured this scene in front of a vintage shop he came across.I of course asked if he went in and he said, "I can't go into places like that with out you."Translation, "Um, no. There was an electronics store around the corner."South Korean Vintage ShopI think it's absolutely lovely and doesn't it look like it could be in any old American town? That is what I think is so intriguing about this photo. We're all really not that different after all. Especially with the sign out front that reads "Vintage & Espresso Bar". Too cute.love & pretty shops, nicōle

Fearless -The Story of Adam Brown - Son, Husband, Father, Friend, Hero

This book was brought to my attention -it's now on my "must read" list. Had to share.Fearless is the story of Adam Brown, a man of extremes, whose courage and determination was fueled by faith, family, and the love of a woman. It’s about a man who waged a war against his own worst impulses and persevered to reach the top tier of the US military. Always the first to volunteer for the most dangerous assignments, Adam’s final act of bravery led to the ultimate sacrifice.

The Days Are Swirling Past - Much to Fast

Gosh...who knew three weeks could feel like three days. I'm trying not to think about Sunday. I'm really trying not to think about the days, weeks, and months that will follow. It will inevitably suck at first. We're going to feel his absence. It will be permeable. A thick fog swirling about our feet.

This is the life we chose. I just don't want to feel like my entire year was spent walking through a fog. Hazy, grey, and dull. I want so much for that feeling to be left behind in 2011. For my kids I'm going to try and make this year better than last. I'm going to try to pack so much fun into it that when they're older and they remember the two years spent with out their father they'll say, "Yeah it sucked, but we still managed to have fun and enjoy life."

For myself I'm really going to focus on myself. My goals. My ambitions. My desires for my own life.

I'll talk about that in detail later...

Supporting Troops Through Books

Want to Support our Troops but don't know how?

Books A Million offers a cool way to do just that through their Books for Troops Program.

Their program allows you to purchase books for our military members currently serving overseas. All you have to do is buy the book, Books A Million does the rest and doesn't even charge you for shipping! How cool is that?

I can say that when ever my husband has been deployed he always enjoyed receiving books.
