When most people think of fairies images of a fragile, tiny little being with delicate diaphanous wings is what, I'm guessing is usually conjured in their minds. Because I've read a few books recently about fairies and I've developed a different opinion of them I was very interested in reading Dark Fairies
by Dr. Bob Curran. In Dark Fairies, Dr. Curran expels the myth that fairies are cute, quirky little beings and instead gives a more real description based on historical folk-lore throughout history. After reading this book, comprised of short stories and explanations I now think of fairies in a different light. When I think of Dark Fairies today images of gargoyle wings and not gossamer ones are what flutter in my mind.Dark Fairies, is a great book full of wonderful-haunting stories and images that remain in your mind. If you are one would like to dive into the world of Fairie and learn a few things along the way. I know I certainly did!
