Daisy Fuentes' Unforgettable You - Book Review

I have to admit I'm a BIG fan of Daisy Fuentes. I have been since I first saw her on MTV.  To the little girl me she was beautiful, glamorous and most importantly she felt like someone I could relate to. To the young me she was the perfect embodiment of me. A girl caught in the middle of a Latin and American world. When I was offered the chance to review her new book Unforgettable You: Master the Elements of Style, Spirituality, and True Beauty I couldn't wait to get my hands on a copy because I wanted to read what she had to say.I liked what she had to say. A lot. This book reads like a una amiga giving you advice while you sit with your Glamour magazines in hand sipping a cafecito. In Unforgettable You Daisy shares some great life lessons along with bits of her personal life experiences about how she continues to grow and learn. With the hopes that you can use what she's learned and apply it to your life.  In it you'll find great lists and quotes from people like Sophia Lauren, Gianni Versace, and Ghandi along with areas for you to journal and make lists of your own. One of my favorite lists was on page 198 where Daisy writes about the whole "less is more" tidbit. The old saying goes, "Less is more." Less accessorizing, a little less makeup, a little less cleavage. Maybe so. But you know what? Sometimes it's just less. It's important to know the difference. I've started the lists below and left room for you to add on. When Less Is More

  • Bright colors (a pop of color is great, two or more pops of color not so much.)
  • Makeup (you should never look like a tranny.)
  • Accessories (they should compliment the outfit, not overpower it.)
  • Trendy pieces (one trend at a time).
  • Cleavage (a little cleavage is lovely, a lot of cleavage is vulgar)

When Less Is Just Less

  • Diamonds
  • Beauty Sleep
  • Hair (on your head).
  • Smiling (it's always going to make you more beautiful).
  • Laughter (see above).
  • Luxury (have you ever head someone say they've had enough of it?).
  • Sex (see above).

Act from your heart. Your light really does shine from the inside out.

I really enjoyed reading this book and think every woman of any age could benefit reading it.I received a copy of  Unforgettable You: Master the Elements of Style, Spirituality, and True Beauty to read and share my thoughts on it with you. I've done that. Hope you enjoyed it.
