Summer Lovin'….Mangos

One of my favorite things about summer in South Florida is that it’s mango season. Many homes have trees in their back yard like we do, and if you happen to be one of the people who don’t, you will often times find people out in front of their homes selling their mangoes or other street vendors from local farms. This summer I’m pretty sure I’ve consumed my weight in mangoes. They are my favorite fruit and everyone knows it -so I’ve even had some of my husband’s family bring me mangoes from their trees.Sigh. They are heavenly. They really are.Save

My Life Through My iPhone [All About Me Sunday]

This week was crazy hectic. Here's a glimpse of some of the goings on in my life this week.

On Sunday I threw my sister a Baby Shower and got to sip from lovely glasses.Wednesday was chaotic. I got some exciting-life changing news from my husband (hint, hint). My brother Joe, had knee surgery-which meant I drove up to Ft. Lauderdale to pick him up, drop him off, go back to Miami to pick up my son from school, and then later in the evening pick him up. He was so hungry we went for pizza. He's doing great-and still planning his trip to the Congo.Friday night I went to see Snow White & The Huntsman with my little sister and bestie. I wore my Fibi & Clo sandals that made me feel like Cinderella.love & iphoneography, nicōle

10 Little Things [All About Me Sunday]

Converse High TopsI’m happiest when… I'm curled up on the couch with my honey watching a movie, reading, writing, snuggling with my little guys. The best place to be in the summer… At the beach underneath an umbrella with a cold drink in your hand and your toes in the sand. I could spend the whole day…  Thrifting, reading, writing, watching old movies.I always wanted to be… a Mom. Awesome. Check. Check. It wasn't until later, I realized that writing was something I always did, loved to do and should pursue professionally.Favorite thing about my house… well MY house doesn't exist. Not yet anyway. The thing I love about my in-laws house... I guess my bedroom. It's the only space that feels like "me".  Sigh. For inspiration I… pin, listen to music, read, talk to my kids, check out blogs, stand on my head (j.k. -but it's not a bad idea). It’s worth the splurge… my Mac Book Pro (thank you honey), DSLR camera, iPhone 4, ASICS running sneakers.Words I live by… “If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough." Day I’d love to live again… my husband coming home for R&R at Christmas.Brings out the best in me… my husband. my kids. being creative.Save

We're smack dab in the middle of a two year remote tour. It's a small world, until the one you love is on the other side of it.It's been 1 year, 2 months, 11 days since his first flight took him towards his duty. 10 months, 4 days later he flew home for three short weeks of  R & R.It's been 3 months, 3 days since I waved good-bye (again). It's been 94 days since I've seen his face (in person). (Thank God for Skype!)13 weeks  since I kissed him.2256 hours since I've fallen asleep to his lullaby snores.135,360 minutes since I whispered I love you's in his ear.8,121,600 seconds I've taken it one moment at a time. At least 295 days remain in this tour (probably more.)Who's counting? xxoo Save

Horizon Dream(s) [Typography]

You may get off track, loose focus and end up in a place you don't want to be. Have faith. Take a step back, evaluate your life, reconnect with the world, and the people who matter most. Find yourself again, look out to the horizon, your dreams may be far off, but they're there waiting for you to move toward them.
